Frequently Asked Questions for Customers of Cross County Bank and First Commercial Bank
We are excited to share with you our plans to unify our two bank names, Cross County Bank and First Commercial Bank, under the name Cross Bank beginning November 21, 2022.
Why are we changing the name of the bank?
The name Cross Bank honors our heritage and solidifies our future as a locally owned and operated community bank. We see tremendous value in our two bank brands, Cross County Bank and First Commercial Bank, sharing a common name since we have always been one bank.
Unifying our bank under the Cross Bank brand simplifies matters for our customers and our communities. Our First Commercial customers often don’t recognize they are part of a bank with a 131-year legacy in the community. Our Cross County Bank customers often don’t recognize the ability to conduct banking transactions at our six First Commercial Bank offices when it may be more convenient to do so.
Is the bank ownership changing?
There is no change in our bank’s ownership or management. Our Board of Directors is committed to keeping our bank locally owned and operated. We feel strongly about our future as a locally owned community bank, and believe we can best serve our customers, our employees, and our community with local shareholders and local decision making.
Are there any changes in our organization or leadership?
There are no changes in our ownership, organizational structure, management team or leadership.
When does the name change go into effect?
On November 21, we’ll update our signage, website, online banking branding and social media pages and be known as Cross Bank in all our offices.
Will the bank have a new bank logo?
Cross Bank will use a new logomark, incorporating the familiar blue of Cross County Bank and a symbol reminiscent of a crossroad. Crossroads are where people come together, seek advice and make decisions about their future. The crossroad in our logo symbolizes our recognition that we’re here to help you navigate and reach your financial journey.
Will the bank systems change?
Both of our bank brands have always been on a common system, so there are no software updates or changes other than the name. The confusion of having two distinct names within our one bank will be gone, but none of our banking systems or technology will change. You do not need to take any action for access to your accounts or other services.
What do I need to do about debit cards and printed checks?
You do not need to change to a new debit card simply due to our rebranding. Local and national merchants and payment providers will continue to honor your existing debit card and printed checks. For your convenience, when your current debit card reaches its expiration date, we will send you a new card with the Cross Bank name. When you reorder checks, they will be automatically issued with the Cross Bank name.
Is your bank routing number or bank charter changing?
Our routing number and charter stay the same.
Our bank was established in 1891 by 31 individuals in Wynne to meet the financial needs of the community. We’ve operated continuously since 1891 and remain locally owned and managed. Among Arkansas state-chartered banks, we have the second oldest charter in existence today, a proud distinction for our customers, employees and community.
Will there be changes to existing loan documents, Certificates of Deposits, signature cards, etc.?
No changes will need to be made to existing loan or deposit documents.
Will any of my account numbers change?
No, all account numbers will stay the same.
How is Cross Bank ready to serve me, local businesses, and our communities?
Our new name honors our 131-year heritage and our commitment to our customers, employees, communities and shareholders. Cross Bank is the place where our communities come together and partner with us to achieve the next stages of their financial journey.
Our Mission Statement says it best: We strive to enrich the lives of our customers, employees and shareholders with our service and our integrity. Because every journey matters.
This is the role we’ve always played in our communities, and we’re proud to continue to honor that legacy.
On behalf of all our team members, we look forward to continuing to provide you with the strength and security associated with a banking legacy dating back to 1891.
